Uvita

Uvita · Costa Rica

Every guest platform stops at the property line. Chucho doesn't.

Chucho lives on a tablet in every villa you run. He answers whatever your guests would otherwise text you, orders dinner from town, and hands you one ledger across the whole portfolio.

Sibú in Uvita delivers to the gate in about 25 minutes. I've built the cart for six — two casados, three pescado, one veggie.

Dominical at 6:10 AM — 3 to 4 ft, offshore until nine, tide filling. I score it 8.2. With two beginners in the group, Playa Hermosa is the gentler call.

Swell + tide, scored hourly

Sí — Farmacia Uvita cierra a las 8. Son seis minutos en carro, a la derecha en la costanera. ¿Le pido algo por Rapido?

That one's for a person. I've told your team and flagged the room — someone usually answers within a few minutes.

Handed to your team

One stay. Six questions your team never has to answer.

From check-in to dinner and the next morning's surf, Chucho handles the useful details from a tablet already waiting in the villa.

Chucho, the concierge character, drawn as a golden dog.
The tablet home screen: a large 'Welcome to Casa Uvita Demo' greeting over a photo of the villa, the temperature and time, tiles for food, groceries, activities and the villa guide, a Speak and Chat concierge panel, and a host-recommended bakery card. The villa guide laid out as a book spread, with numbered chapters for Wi-Fi, check-in, house rules and directions to the beach. A 'Deliver to Villa del Sol' overlay showing the host's hand-picked restaurants as large photo cards, each with the host's own note, the distance and open or closed status. The concierge chat panel answering the question 'Is the surf good tomorrow?' with a specific forecast-based recommendation. The concierge handing the conversation over to a human and offering to reach the villa's own team. The Tides and Surf screen: a week-ahead day picker, an hour-by-hour surf timeline, scored nearby spots and a 48-hour tide curve.

4:40 PM Check-in

They walk in and Chucho introduces the villa.

The villa's name, the weather, how long until sunset, and the four things a guest wants in the first ten minutes.

5:15 PM The binder, retired

He knows the wifi, the gate code, the way to the beach.

The ten questions your team answers by text every single week, written once and kept in English and Spanish.

6:30 PM Dinner

He orders dinner from a restaurant in town.

Your hand-picked places, a real cart, a real total. The guest taps once to confirm and it comes to the gate — no app to download, no phone call in Spanish.

8:05 PM Anything else

Ask him out loud, in any language.

He answers from your villa's own information and live local data, never from the open internet.

9:20 PM A real person

And when it should be a human, he says so.

One tap reaches your team. It's the assistant to your concierge, never the replacement.

5:50 AM The coast

He watches the swell, the tides and the day ahead.

Every surf spot within driving distance, scored hour by hour. Fishing properties get the same screen with solunar windows and bite scores.

We read the whole category. No one else crosses the property line.

DoorDash owns one of these outright and still hasn't shipped it. That column isn't a gap on somebody's roadmap — it's a business they aren't in.

7:04 AM · Your side of it

You wake up to the ledger.

One console for the whole portfolio: what guests spent, which tablets went dark overnight, and what the concierge couldn't answer.

Properties, one ledger

Real numbers from the dashboard below, same period.

Gross guest spend, by property

Food against experiences, sessions, and which properties need looking at — over whatever period you pick.

Every order as a statement line

Reconciled or not, per provider, ready to settle commission.

What it couldn't answer

Guest questions that missed, clustered and counted, each one tap from becoming a guide entry. The guide gets better every week.

Every tablet, every property

Last sync and a health dot per device, so a dark screen in a villa isn't news a guest breaks to you.

Connected to the local network

Rapido

Costa Rica's delivery network. Restaurants and groceries, ordered and paid for inside the tablet.

WellFred

Local operators for surf lessons, chefs, massage and tours — routed to real providers, not a static list.

El Botón

Emergency alerting built in. Critical alerts cut through silent mode.

We live in Uvita and negotiated these from inside the local network. Reproducing that column means reproducing those deals first.
