My wife and I spent six years as Airbnb Superhosts, with six listings. Then one guest dispute cost us our Airbnb business.

We moved to Booking.com. But moving between booking channels didn’t solve the bigger problem: we were doing the work while someone else controlled how guests found us.

“Just get direct bookings” sounds great. Until you need a hotel’s advertising budget, and time to learn Google Search Console and Meta Business Suite.

So we’re building Chucho. A small team, with no funding, making a new way for hosts and travelers to connect. A public listing is the first step. Your own booking site is where the guest books.

We want hosts to have another way to be found. And more control over the businesses we work so hard to build.

to know.

Is the public listing really free?

Yes. Chucho’s free plan includes one property’s public listing and guest guide. You don’t need a credit card to sign up.

Do I need my own booking site?

You need an existing direct booking URL where travelers can check dates and book. Chucho links to it; Chucho does not create a booking engine or take payments for your stay.

Do I have to leave Airbnb?

No. Keep the booking channels that work for you. Your Chucho listing gives you a public page that points to your own booking site.

How does ChatGPT discovery work?

Travelers use the Chucho plugin in ChatGPT to find participating properties. Your public listing gives them information about your place and a link to your booking site. Recommendations depend on the traveler’s request; bookings are not guaranteed.

Will guests pay less when they book direct?

You set the prices on your booking site. Direct booking can avoid marketplace fees, but savings depend on your rates and any fees charged by your booking provider.
