House rules

The primary renter must be at least 30 years old. No persons beyond the maximum occupancy of six are permitted. Smoking is not allowed. Events are prohibited. Reservations involving events, commercial activities, other non-traditional uses or rotating guest groups require prior written host approval and may incur additional fees or an increased security deposit. Reservations require approval before confirmation. One dog of 20 lbs or less is permitted for $450.00 per booking. Larger dogs, multiple dogs and all other pets require express approval. The additional-fees schedule lists $450 per dog per booking. Utility fees are included, but guests are responsible for excessive utility usage, defined as costs over $125.00 per night of the reservation. One end-of-stay cleaning is included. For stays longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest’s expense. Unless otherwise stated, payments are non-refundable. If cancellation dates are reopened at the owner’s discretion and successfully rebooked for the original dates at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after full payment for the replacement reservation is collected. If no replacement reservation is made, guests may use their original dates provided scheduled payments have been made and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before the reservation begins. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; payments above $3,500 must be made by check, ACH or wire. In lieu of a security deposit, the property carries up to $25,000 in damage protection, with coverage details in the booking agreement. The owner may arrange showings to prospective renters or buyers, with advance notice and efforts to schedule reasonable daytime hours.

Getting there

The home is between Sag Harbor and East Hampton, minutes from East Hampton village, beaches, restaurants and markets. It is not handicap accessible and is not suitable for multiple families or unrelated guests. Outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability; spring cleaning and updates typically occur in late April or early May.
