House rules

Reservations require approval before confirmation. The primary renter must be at least 30 years old. No persons beyond the maximum occupancy of 10 are permitted. Smoking is not allowed. Events are prohibited. Event-related requests, commercial activities, other non-traditional uses and rotating groups during one stay require prior written host approval; additional fees and/or an increased security deposit may apply. Utilities are included, but guests are responsible for excessive usage, defined as utility costs over $110.00 per reservation night. For stays longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest's expense. Pets require owner approval and may incur additional fees and/or a security deposit. Unless otherwise stated, payments are non-refundable. Marquis may attempt to rebook cancelled dates at the owner's discretion. If the original dates are rebooked at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after the replacement reservation is paid in full. If no replacement reservation is made, guests may use their original dates provided scheduled payments have been made and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before the reservation starts. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; larger payments must be by check, ACH or wire. In lieu of a security deposit, the property has up to $25,000 of damage protection, with coverage details in the booking agreement. The owner may show the property to prospective renters or buyers, with advance notice and efforts to schedule reasonable daytime hours.

Getting there

The home is about 10 minutes from shopping, restaurants and beaches including Foster Memorial Town, North Sea and Mecox Beach. Bedrooms are split between the main and second floors, with a recreation room on the lower level. Outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about pool availability and outdoor furniture or equipment. Seasonal cleaning and updates typically take place in late April or early May.
