House rules

The primary renter must be at least 35. Maximum occupancy is eight; additional persons require express approval. Smoking is not allowed. Events are prohibited. Events, commercial activities and other non-traditional uses, including rotating guest groups during one stay, require prior written host approval and may incur additional fees and/or an increased security deposit. Reservations require approval before confirmation. For stays longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest's expense. Utility fees are included, but guests are responsible for excessive usage. Propane is not included: a refundable deposit of $500 per week is required, usage is charged at the end of the rental, and unused funds are returned within 30 days of checkout. Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Following cancellation, Marquis may work with the owner to reopen the dates, at the owner's discretion. If the original dates are rebooked at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after the replacement reservation is paid in full. If not rebooked, guests may use their original dates provided scheduled payments have been made and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before the reservation begins. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; larger payments must be made by check, ACH or wire. In lieu of a security deposit, the property has up to $25,000 in damage protection, subject to the booking agreement. The owner may show the property to prospective renters or buyers, with efforts to provide advance notice and schedule reasonable daytime visits.

Getting there

The home has bedrooms on the main and second floors and a bathroom on the lower level. Nearby beaches include Cooper's Beach, Flying Point Beach, Halsey Neck Beach, Cryder Beach and Little Plains Beach. Outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability; seasonal cleaning and updates typically take place in late April or early May.
