House rules

The primary renter must be at least 30 years old. The property is not suitable for children aged 4 and under or children aged 5 and older. Smoking is not allowed. No guests beyond the maximum occupancy of six are permitted. Events are prohibited; event-related reservations, commercial activities, other non-traditional uses and rotating groups require prior written host approval and may incur additional fees or an increased security deposit. Utility fees are included, but guests are responsible for excessive utility usage. For reservations longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest's expense. A refundable cash security deposit of $5,000 is required, subject to a separate agreement signed by owner and guest before check-in. One eligible dog costs $200.00 per booking; other pets, multiple dogs and dogs over 60 lbs require express approval. Reservations require approval before confirmation. Unless otherwise stated, payments are non-refundable. If the owner elects to reopen canceled dates and Marquis rebooks the original dates at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after full payment for the replacement booking. If no replacement booking is made, use of the original dates remains possible provided scheduled payments are complete and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before the reservation begins. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; payments over $3,500 must be made by check, ACH or wire. The owner may show the property to prospective renters or buyers, with advance notice and efforts to arrange reasonable daytime hours.

Getting there

The primary bedroom and its bathroom are on the fourth floor; the other two bedrooms and another bathroom are on the first/main floor. Nearby beaches include Cooper's Beach, Flying Point Beach, Halsey Neck Beach, Cryder Beach and Little Plains Beach. Outdoor hot tubs typically operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day; inquire before booking outside this period if you intend to use the hot tub. Outside that period, also inquire about outdoor furniture and equipment availability. Spring cleaning and updates typically occur in late April or early May.
