The house

Designed by MTK MDRN, this approximately 3,300-square-foot home sits above the Montauk canopy at the end of a private drive in a quiet neighborhood. Ocean and lake views extend to the primary bed and bathtub. Sliding doors and skylights bring light into the renovated interiors, which combine beach-inspired and mid-century design with organic fabrics and non-toxic materials.

The open kitchen, dining and upper living area includes Viking Pro appliances, a 14-foot quartz counter with bar seating and walnut shelving. There is a media/family room with a 90-inch television, an office, a laundry room, indoor and outdoor fitness or meditation spaces, and a cabana room with a bar. Conveniences include whole-house water filtration, Sonos music, central air conditioning, central vacuum, instant hot water and Wii and PS3 consoles.

The named sleeping rooms are on the upper floor and do not share walls with one another. Each has a queen bed and air conditioning; Bedroom 2 also has a crib. The primary bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, streaming television and deck access. Bedroom 2 has a walk-in closet and deck access. Organic linens and Room & Board beds and mattresses are provided, with motorized shades in two main bedrooms. There are three full bathrooms: the primary bathroom has a tub, the second upstairs bathroom has a shower, and the main-floor bathroom has a shower and tub.

Outdoor areas include 2,000 square feet of upper decks with cable railing, multiple sitting and dining areas, a heated saltwater pool, bluestone patio, fenced backyard, grassy lawn, gas grill, fire pit, outdoor marble dining table, six lounge chairs and a large sofa. A hanging chair sits beneath a maple tree. A multi-person outdoor shower has hot and cold water, and there is surfboard storage. Four beach chairs, a beach umbrella, cooler, linens, bath towels and pool/beach towels are provided. The homeowner manages on-site operations and guest communication after booking confirmation.
