The house

The living room, lanai and both bedrooms have unobstructed ocean views, with green mountains and the Bali Hai ridge in the other direction. The top-floor position has no footsteps overhead. The lanai overlooks the coastline and sea cliffs; humpback whales are often spotted offshore in winter.

An open-plan kitchen, dining and living area faces the water. The kitchen has cherry cabinets, stainless appliances, a granite breakfast bar, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, kettle, blender and dishes and utensils. A round dining table seats four, and the sofa faces the ocean through sliding doors. The common space has tile flooring.

The primary bedroom has a king bed, and the guest bedroom has a queen bed. Both have ocean views, an ensuite full bathroom, a ceiling fan and individual split air conditioning. Ceiling fans also run throughout the home.

Guests have access to Alii Kai’s community swimming pool and shared gas barbecue grill. The home provides Wi-Fi, a washer and dryer, television, linens, shampoo, hair dryer, iron, hot water, a bathtub, smoke detector and private entrance. Beach towels, beach chairs and a beach umbrella are provided. Parking is free.

Princeville Shopping Center is under two miles away for groceries and errands. Nearby dining includes Hideaways Pizza Pub, with oceanfront fine dining a little over a mile away. Hanalei town and Hanalei Bay are about ten minutes away, and Anini Beach is about ten minutes in the other direction. Nearby activities include botanical gardens, horseback riding, ziplining, hiking, golf and watersports. Lihue Airport (LIH) serves the island.

The home is reached by an exterior staircase, and a car is necessary. Children are welcome; pets and smoking are not allowed. Self check-in and checkout are available. Mandatory mid-stay cleaning charges apply to reservations of 10 nights or more, with two mid-stay cleanings required for stays of 21 nights or longer. These charges are separate from the departure cleaning fee collected at booking; customer support coordinates scheduling and applies the charges.
