House rules

Maximum occupancy is eight; additional guests are not permitted. Smoking is not allowed. Events are prohibited. Reservations involving events, commercial activities or other non-traditional uses, including rotating groups during one stay, require prior written host approval and may incur additional fees or an increased security deposit. One dog of 30 lbs or less is permitted for $95.00 per booking. Larger dogs, multiple dogs and all other pets require express approval. The fee schedule lists $95 per dog per booking. Utilities are included, but guests are responsible for excessive usage, defined as utility costs over $90.00 per night of the reservation. For reservations longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest's expense. Reservations require approval before confirmation. Unless otherwise stated, payments are non-refundable. Following cancellation, Marquis will use best efforts to work with the owner to reopen the dates, at the owner's discretion. If the original dates are rebooked at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after full payment for the replacement reservation is collected. If the dates are not rebooked, guests may use their original reservation if payments comply with the agreed schedule and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before arrival. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; payments over $3,500 must be made by check, ACH or wire. In lieu of a security deposit, the property has up to $25,000 of damage protection, with coverage details in the booking agreement. The owner may show the property to prospective renters or buyers, with advance notice and efforts to schedule showings during reasonable daytime hours.

Getting there

The primary renter must be at least 35 years old. The house is not handicap accessible. Parking is limited to three cars in the driveway. For stays outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability; spring cleaning and updates typically take place in late April or early May.
