Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain and Lion's Head. It is an affluent neighbourhood populated mostly by young professionals and contains numerous chic restaurants, hotels, boutique shops and loft apartments. The suburb is also a hub for the Cape Town creative industry.
The V&A Waterfront and the International Convention Centre (ICC) are just a stone's throw away. The famous beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton are within easy reach and only a 15 minute Uber ride away.
Other things to note
We kindly request that you read the house rules prior to booking and respect them during your stay. Parties or events of any kind will not be tolerated. Violation of this rule will result in eviction from the property and charges for any damages or additional cleaning required. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
We want to inform our guests in advance about potential disturbances during your stay. According to City of Cape Town Municipality guidelines, construction is allowed from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. The situation is beyond our control. However, we hope that this doesn't impact your stay!
Important Information for Long Stays
For bookings longer than 7 nights, a mandatory mid-stay clean will be scheduled every 7 nights (e.g., on Day 8, Day 15, etc.) to maintain hygiene and linen quality. This service includes fresh linen, light cleaning, and trash removal. Fee: R560 per clean (separate from the standard cleaning fee). The fee is payable in advance via Airbnb’s Resolution Centre (an official Airbnb process) and must be settled before check-in.
Please note: Linen may only be used for a maximum of 7 nights before replacement.
Please note that South Africa experiences scheduled power outages known as loadshedding. This is managed by Eskom to prevent strain on the national power grid. Loadshedding may affect electricity availability for a few hours at a time. To stay informed about loadshedding schedules in our area, we highly recommend downloading the EskomSePush app. This app provides real-time updates, schedules, and notifications so you can plan accordingly.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Getting Around
It is safe to walk around Gardens during the day, exercise common sense and vigilance as you would in any big city. Don't leave your valuables unattended (purses, cellphone, cameras) and watch out for pickpockets on busy streets.
We suggest using Uber within the city as it is reliable and affordable. There is a hop-on, hop-off tourist bus stop across the road in front of the Planetarium.
The closest MyCiti bus stop, Upper Long St is around the corner in front of Long Street Cafe.
There are a few different ways to get around Cape Town, depending on your budget and needs. If you’re traveling on a tight budget, the best option is to use the bus system. Bus tickets are relatively cheap, and you can use them to get around the city quite easily. The MyCiTi bus system is reliable, safe and efficient. There are also Uber or metered taxis which can be hailed from the street.
If you have a bit more money to spend, you might want to consider hiring a car. This can be a great option if you’re traveling with a group of people, as it will allow you to split the cost of fuel and parking. Car hire companies usually have good rates for weekly or monthly rentals, so it’s definitely worth considering if you’re planning on staying in Cape Town for a while.
The City Sightseeing bus is an awesome way to see the city at your own pace as you jump on and off at your leisure. The MyCiti bus is another quick and easy way to get around the city and surrounds.
