House rules

The primary renter must be at least 25. Smoking is not permitted. Additional guests and events require express approval. Events, commercial activities, rotating guest groups and other non-traditional uses require prior written host approval; additional fees and/or an increased security deposit may apply. One dog of 50 lbs or less is permitted for $500.00 per booking. Larger dogs, multiple dogs and other pets require express approval. The fee schedule specifies $500 per dog per booking. Utilities are included, but guests are responsible for excessive usage, defined as utility costs above $100.00 per night of the reservation. For reservations longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest’s expense. Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. If canceled dates are reopened at the owner’s discretion and rebooked for the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the original reservation total is issued after full payment for the replacement booking is collected. If the dates are not rebooked, guests may use their original stay provided scheduled payments are made and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before arrival. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; payments above $3,500 must be made by check, ACH or wire. In lieu of a security deposit, the property has up to $25,000 in damage protection, subject to the booking agreement. The owner may show the home to prospective renters or buyers, with efforts to provide advance notice and schedule reasonable daytime visits.

Getting there

The home sits atop a hill on a cul-de-sac beside a nature reserve. It is not handicap accessible. Outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability; spring cleaning and updates typically occur in late April or early May.
