The house

The estate has views toward the eastern ridges and western valleys, hand-carved Cambodian wood doors and pillars, coffered ceilings, tall windows and a curved staircase. The living area includes a fireplace and built-in shelves, and the dining table seats the full group.

The main kitchen has granite counters, an island with bar stools, dark wood cabinetry and a windowed breakfast nook. A second kitchen provides additional preparation space. Equipment includes a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, cookware and utensils, coffee-making equipment, blender, wine fridge and small kitchen appliances.

The primary suite includes a sitting area, walk-in closets, a mirrored vanity, a large walk-in shower and a mountain-facing soaking tub. Two balconies overlook opposite valleys, and a private east-facing deck has its own spa. The other guest bedrooms also have ensuite bathrooms.

The grounds span several elevations, with tiered west-facing patios, a lawn, private yard, outdoor kitchen with built-in barbecue and an east-facing covered loggia. A separate hillside spa sits lower on the slope. Other facilities include a fitness room, game room, smart television, satellite or cable television, stereo and toys. Linens, beach towels, a washer, dryer, iron, hair dryer, heating and ceiling fans are provided. Safety equipment includes smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher.

Regional wineries and produce stands are an easy drive away, and San Diego International Airport serves the area. A car is necessary. A separately accessed ADU occupied by long-term tenants on the lower west side and a staff office beside the covered garage are excluded from the rental.
