The maintenance team requires access to the house for pool maintenance. Despite a pest-control plan, occasional encounters with insects, lizards, rodents, and reptiles are part of the tropical setting and do not constitute a breach of the rental policy. Cleaning fee: $89. Service fee: $100, varying with the number of days.
Getting there
A 4×4 is not required for access. Uvita Beach and Marino Ballena National Park are minutes away. San Jose airport is 3.5 hours away by car; an alternative is a 20-minute flight from SJO to Quepos airport followed by 45 minutes by car. Weather or falling branches can cause occasional power outages, and the spring-fed water supply can be interrupted.
