Listing description

Built after the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfires, Yirrip House was home to two families before becoming a vacation rental. Its name means ironbark trees in Wadawurrung, reflecting the ironbarks and native plants on the acre property. The house sits high on a hill and has a cathedral roofline, floor-to-ceiling windows and countryside views.

Multiple lounging spaces include downstairs living areas, a small study nook and an upstairs living room with high ceilings and a wood burner. Split-system air conditioning is available downstairs, with wood fires, a small gas heater and a ceiling fan in the main living area. Portable bedroom heating is available in winter. Wi-Fi and three smart TVs are provided. Outdoor spaces include a furnished courtyard, decks, a balcony with couches, an outdoor dining area, a Weber barbecue and a small fire pit in the front bush garden.

The fully equipped kitchen has a full-sized fridge and freezer, oven, cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, pantry and Nespresso coffee machine. The internal laundry includes a washer, and there is a clothesline. Bed linen, bath mats, towels, face washers and tea towels are supplied. Smoke alarms and a child safety gate are provided.

Five bedrooms contain four queen beds and one double bed. Bedroom 1 has a walk-in robe, TV and ensuite with shower and toilet; bedrooms 2, 4 and 5 have built-in robes. All bedrooms have large windows, and all beds have electric blankets. One or two small single beds for children can be added on request. The main bathroom has a shower, spa bath and toilet; the third bathroom has a shower, bathtub and toilet.

There are four free on-site parking spaces. Pets are welcome by arrangement, and the home is suitable for children and infants. Firewood is supplied only from May to October. Long-term stays are also allowed. Fairhaven Beach is a five-minute drive away; Split Point Lighthouse is a 30-minute walk or five-minute drive away.
