House rules

The primary renter must be at least 30 years old. Smoking is not allowed. Additional persons and events are prohibited without express approval. Events, commercial activities, other non-traditional uses and rotating guest groups require prior written host approval; additional fees and/or an increased security deposit may apply. Pets require owner approval and may incur fees and/or a security deposit. For stays longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest's expense. Utilities are included, but guests are responsible for excessive usage, defined as utility costs over $75.00 per night of the reservation. Reservations require approval before confirmation. Payments are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated. If cancellation dates are reopened at the owner's discretion and rebooked for the original dates at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after full collection of the replacement payment. If no replacement reservation is made, guests may use their original dates provided payments comply with the booking schedule and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before arrival. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; larger payments must be by check, ACH or wire. In lieu of a security deposit, the property has up to $25,000 in damage protection, subject to the booking agreement.

Getting there

The house is waterfront with a private dock. Horton Lane Beach and Goose Creek Beach are nearby. Outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability; spring cleaning and updates typically take place in late April or early May. The owner may arrange showings to prospective renters or buyers, with advance notice and efforts to schedule reasonable daytime hours.
