## About the house

Villa The Zen is a No Footprint Wood House constructed from teak using traditional nail-free assembly techniques. Its bioclimatic design uses natural ventilation, sea and mountain breezes, and shade from large trees. Open-concept living areas connect indoor and outdoor spaces. Sleeping accommodation includes king-size beds and two lofts, one with a full-size sofa bed and the other with a queen mattress.

A 22-meter infinity lap pool overlooks the landscape and has adjustable LED lighting with eight color options. A gazebo steps from the main patio contains a barbecue and bar area for outdoor dining. Other facilities include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a washer, dryer, microwave, refrigerator, outdoor shower, lawn and window coverings.

The surrounding tropical forest attracts monkeys, toucans, macaws, butterflies and other tropical birds. Primary forest within the property is a five-minute walk from the villa. A 4×4 vehicle is mandatory for access.

A 4×4 vehicle is mandatory to reach the property; a 4×2 AWD vehicle is not sufficient. San José (SJO) Airport is approximately 3.5 hours away by car. An alternative is a 20-minute flight from SJO to Quepos Airport followed by 50 minutes by car. Primary forest on the property is a five-minute walk from the villa.

The maintenance team requires access to the house on pool-maintenance days. Occasional encounters with insects, lizards, rodents and reptiles can occur despite pest control and do not constitute a breach of the rental policy. A service fee of $99 varies with the number of days; a cleaning fee of $89 also applies.
