The cabin has a preserved traditional Hallingstue character. The Bergsjø area offers hiking, fishing, cycling and cross-country skiing, with ski trails directly outside the cabin in winter. Skarslia Ski and Tobogganing Centre is 3 km away, Ål Ski Centre is 20 km away, and fishing is available approximately 300 m away.

The cabin is by Rødungen in the Bergsjø area. Cross-country ski trails are approximately 10 m away, Skarslia ski centre is 3 km away, fishing is approximately 300 m away, Ål Ski Centre is 20 km away, and Ål is approximately 30 km away. The road reaches the cabin in summer and is plowed in winter when weather permits; during severe weather, parking may be approximately 200 m away at Rødungstøl Mountain Hotel for a fee.

The cabin is primarily rented to adult guests, and the minimum rental age is 30. Maximum occupancy is 5 people even though there are more sleeping places. Only small dogs may be allowed on request; advance notice is required and a pet supplement applies. Smoking is not permitted. Guests must bring bed linen and towels. Final cleaning, electricity, pillows, duvets and firewood are included.
