House rules

The primary renter must be at least 25 years old. No guests beyond the maximum occupancy of 14 are permitted. Events are prohibited. Reservations involving events, commercial activities, rotating guest groups or other non-traditional uses require prior written host approval; additional fees and/or an increased security deposit may apply. Pets require owner approval; the dog approval fee is $200 per dog per booking, and additional fees and/or a security deposit may apply. Utility fees are included, but guests are responsible for excessive usage, defined as utility costs over $250.00 per night of the reservation. One light cleaning per eight nights booked and one end-of-stay cleaning are included; additional requested cleanings are at the guest's expense. Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. If a cancelled reservation is reopened at the owner's discretion and rebooked for the original dates at the same or a higher price, a refund less 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after full payment for the replacement reservation is collected. If it is not rebooked, guests may use the original dates provided scheduled payments have been made and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before the reservation starts. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; payments over $3,500 must be made by check, ACH or wire. In lieu of a security deposit, the property includes up to $25,000 of damage protection, subject to the booking agreement. Exterior security cameras include one doorbell camera, two front-yard cameras facing the house, one camera on the backyard deck and one overlooking the backyard. The owner may arrange showings to prospective renters or buyers, with advance notice and efforts to schedule them during reasonable daytime hours.

Getting there

Four bedrooms are on the main floor and two are on the lower level. The property is not handicap accessible. Nearby beaches include Cooper's Beach, Flying Point Beach, Halsey Neck Beach, Cryder Beach and Little Plains Beach. Outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability; spring cleaning and updates typically occur in late April or early May.
