House rules

The primary renter must be at least 30 years old. The home is not suitable for unrelated guests. Additional persons require express approval. Smoking is not allowed. Events are prohibited; any proposed event, commercial activity, rotating guest group or other non-traditional use requires prior written host approval and may incur additional fees or an increased security deposit. Utility fees are included, but guests are responsible for excessive usage, defined as utility costs over $150.00 per reservation night. One end-of-stay cleaning is included. For reservations longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest's expense. Reservations require approval before confirmation. Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Following cancellation, Marquis will make best efforts to work with the owner to reopen the dates, at the owner's discretion. If the original dates are rebooked at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after full payment for the replacement reservation is collected. If no replacement reservation is made, guests may use their original dates if payments meet the agreed schedule and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before the reservation starts. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; payments above that amount must be made by check, ACH or wire. In place of a security deposit, the property includes up to $25,000 of damage protection, subject to the booking agreement. The owner may need to show the property to prospective renters or buyers, with advance notice and efforts to schedule during reasonable daytime hours.

Getting there

Foster Memorial Town Beach, with lifeguarded bay swimming, is seven minutes away; the playground at Havens Beach is ten minutes away. The home does not provide direct beach access. Bedrooms are on the second floor and lower level. The property is not wheelchair accessible. Outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability; spring cleaning and updates typically take place in late April or early May.
