House rules

The primary renter must be at least 30 years old. No additional people beyond the maximum occupancy of six are permitted. Smoking is not allowed. Events are prohibited. Commercial activities, non-traditional uses and rotating groups require prior written host approval; additional fees or an increased security deposit may apply. Reservations require approval before confirmation. One dog of 50 lbs or less is permitted for $200.00 per booking. Larger dogs, multiple dogs and all other pets require express approval. Utilities are included, but guests are responsible for excessive usage, defined as utility costs over $55.00 per night of the reservation. One end-of-stay cleaning is included. For stays longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest's expense. Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Following cancellation, Marquis will use best efforts to work with the owner to reopen and rebook the original dates, at the owner's discretion. If those dates are rebooked at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after full payment for the replacement reservation is collected. If not rebooked, guests may use their original dates provided scheduled payments are made and Marquis is notified in writing at least 72 hours before arrival. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; amounts over $3,500 must be paid by check, ACH or wire. In lieu of a security deposit, damage protection covers up to $25,000, subject to the booking agreement. The owner may show the property to prospective renters or buyers, with efforts to provide advance notice and schedule showings during reasonable daytime hours.

Getting there

Shell Beach is a 15-minute walk away. Two private kayaks are available at Town Landing. The property is not handicap accessible and is not suitable for multiple families. Outside Memorial Day to Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability; seasonal cleaning and updates typically occur in late April or early May.
