The house

Guests have exclusive access to the full lodge, which has an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area. The living area includes two sofas, a large window and a log burner. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with children's cutlery and dishes available. Bed linen and a carbon monoxide detector are provided.

The main bedroom has a king-size bed and an ensuite shower room with a WC and basin. The second bedroom has a single bed and a bunk bed with two single sleeping places. The family bathroom has a freestanding bathtub with a handheld shower hose, WC and wash basin; both bathrooms have towel rails.

Outside are a private terrace with outdoor seating, an enclosed south-facing patio, wraparound decking with south-, east- and west-facing terrace areas, and a mainly grassed garden on the west side.

The site has direct access to the Cleveland Way. Runswick Bay has a sandy beach, local pubs, cafés and shops, and offers opportunities for swimming, surfing, paddleboarding, sailing, fossil hunting and rock pooling. Whitby railway station is a 20-minute drive away, with a taxi rank nearby. The X4 bus runs every 30 minutes from Runswick Bay and serves coastal destinations including Sandsend, Staithes, Saltburn and Whitby.
