# Paul Mitchell Estate Lanikai, Hawaii, United States (general area) ## About the house The estate combines private and communal spaces with tropical gardens, ponds, water features, hand-carved Balinese doors, 'Ohi'a log pillars, ironwood-shingled rooflines and native koa doors. The Main House has a fully equipped kitchen, split-level living room, 25-foot ceilings and a dining room with marble floors and pocket doors opening toward the ocean. Its upstairs primary bedroom is reached by a spiral staircase and has an ocean-view balcony, walk-in closet and deep soaking tub. The Boat House includes an upstairs bedroom, a Crow's Nest lounge overlooking the Mokulua Islands, a loft with a queen futon and half bath, plus a downstairs gym, private office and outdoor full bathroom. The Kitchen Pavilion has dining and sitting areas and island views. The Guest Cabana has two secluded ocean-view bedrooms. The Japanese Bath House includes a deep soaking tub, sauna, garden shower and meditation pond. The tree-level Garage House contains two bedrooms, a full kitchen, living and dining areas, and a laundry room with a washer and two dryers. The Pool Pavilion has two full bathrooms, a wet bar, music system and grill beside a lagoon-style saltwater pool and spa with a waterfall and Balinese hut. Garden pathways lead through tropical planting. A stone fire pit with lava benches overlooks a secluded beach cove with easy access to reef-protected waters. Bedrooms have air conditioning and Paul Mitchell hair and bath products. Flat-screen televisions are provided in all rooms except the private office; cable, high-speed internet and an intercom system are available. Communal areas and most bedrooms have ceiling fans. Local buses serve the neighborhood, but a rental car or car service is highly recommended. A bicycle path connects to Kailua town. The primary bedroom requires a spiral staircase, and the Garage House accommodations are at tree level. The property is exclusively available to the renter for a full 30-day rental period; no one else may occupy it during that period. Online bookings require manager or owner approval. Maximum occupancy is 14, including adults, children and infants, or 10 without the Garage House. Additional occupants require approval and may incur a per-person daily charge. Unauthorized additional occupants incur a charge of $300 per night plus applicable taxes. A mandatory refundable security deposit of $10,000 covers damage, loss and approved account charges. It is held without interest and refunded within 21 days of departure, less applicable charges; any deductions are accompanied by a statement.
