Getting there
The bedrooms and family shower room are upstairs; a separate WC is downstairs. Brightlingsea’s marina, waterfront, shops, cafés and pubs are within walking distance. Driving is the easiest way to explore the wider Essex coastline. Approximate driving times are 25 minutes to Colchester, 20 minutes to Clacton-on-Sea, 35 minutes to Mersea Island and 40 minutes to Ipswich. Alresford (Essex) railway station is about 10 minutes by car, and Wivenhoe station is about 15 minutes by car. Local buses connect Brightlingsea with Colchester, Clacton and surrounding villages. Local taxis are recommended for late arrivals or station trips.
