The house

The maisonette occupies a refurbished industrial building and overlooks a courtyard. Midcentury interiors and floor-to-ceiling dual-pane windows complement a living area with a sofa, coffee table, reading nook and large bookshelf. The surrounding streets have eateries, bakeries and independent boutiques.

The compact kitchen is equipped for light cooking, with a dishwasher, coffee machine and small dining table. Wi-Fi, a laptop-friendly workspace and heating are available.

Two bedroom nooks are reached by a flight of stairs and have thick curtains for privacy. The main bedroom has a queen bed and wardrobe; the second has a single bed. Ceilings on the elevated sleeping level are slightly low. The small, ventilated bathroom has a shower and washing machine. Towels, bed linen, toiletries and a hairdryer are provided.

Palais Garnier and Canal Saint-Martin are a 20-minute walk away; Gare du Nord is a 10-minute walk away. The city setting can be noisy.
