The house

The open-concept living area has vaulted ceilings, oversized windows overlooking the lake, comfortable seating, a projector screen and a modern wood stove. The dining area seats eight. The fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances, ample cabinetry, a window-lined counter and a breakfast bar seating four, along with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, dishes and utensils.

A furnished wrap-around balcony overlooks Lake Whatcom and the surrounding mountains. Outdoor facilities include a barbecue, a private yard and secured bike storage with racks in a shed.

The downstairs primary bedroom has a king bed and futon, a full ensuite bathroom and a private lake-view balcony; it is the best room for a crib. Both upstairs bedrooms have queen beds and balconies; one also serves as an office. They share the upstairs full bathroom.

High-speed Wi-Fi, dedicated workspaces, television and a smart TV, a washer and dryer, linens, extra pillows and blankets, heating and hot water are provided. The home has a private entrance, exterior security cameras, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit. Free parking and self check-in/check-out are available. Children are welcome, and long-term stays are allowed.

Hiking and biking trails and beach access down the street are within walking reach. Downtown Bellingham is a 15-minute drive, and Mt. Baker ski area is a one-hour drive, with I-5 access also nearby. Stays over 14 days require a mid-stay cleaning charged at 50% of the departure-cleaning fee, payable at the time of cleaning. Up to two dogs are allowed; inquire for details.
