The house

Lake View Lodge accommodates up to 10 guests in three bedrooms and has two bathrooms. Set among trees at the end of a long driveway, the lodge has a large open-plan living area with board games, window seats, a fireplace and a wooden pianola that plays paper scrolls. Outside are a lake-facing deck, outdoor chairs and a garden/patio.

The kitchen includes a fridge-freezer, microwave, oven, hobs, toaster and kettle. Laundry facilities include a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. One bathroom has a basin, toilet, shower and bath; the other has a basin, toilet and shower.

Linen is included: sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats and tea towels are supplied, along with pillows and duvets. Beds are made before arrival and stripped after departure. Off-road parking is available. There is no pool or hot tub.

Pukawa Bay has native-bush walking tracks and opportunities for boating, kayaking, fishing and birdwatching. The lodge provides a base for Lake Taupo recreation and winter ski trips.
