The house

Kailua Hale Kahakai occupies a quiet flag lot along Kailua Beach, with over 4,300 square feet of living space, ocean views, two living rooms and a formal dining room opening to the oceanfront backyard. The formal living room overlooks the beach; the adjacent TV room has a Smart TV.

The fully equipped kitchen has stainless-steel appliances, a center island, refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, cookware and utensils. Small appliances include a coffee maker and grinder, blender, mixer, toaster, toaster oven, kettle, rice cooker, food processor and juicer. A BBQ is also available.

Five bedrooms are upstairs and one is on the main level. The main suite has a king bed, an ocean- and bay-view balcony, and an ensuite with a soaking tub and dual vanities. Guest Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a full bathroom with a tub; Guest Bedrooms 4 and 5 share a full bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Guest Bedroom 6 has a private ensuite with a walk-in shower. There is an additional full bathroom on the ground level. Four upper-level bedrooms have ocean views.

A shaded lanai provides covered outdoor lounging and dining beside a private palm-framed lawn, ocean-view seating and a direct pathway to the beach. Beach towels, chairs, mats, an umbrella, boogie boards, coolers, an insulated cooler bag and a beach bag are provided. Other facilities include an outdoor shower, full-size washer and dryer, additional bedding, Smart TVs and cable, Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and free on-site parking.

The home uses trade winds and ceiling fans rather than air conditioning. Children are welcome. Self check-in and check-out and smartlock entry are available. Safety equipment includes smoke detectors, a fire extinguisher, a first-aid kit, outdoor lighting and security cameras.

Kailua Beach, Kalama Beach, Kailua Beach Park, Kailua Town shops and restaurants, Island Snow and Lanikai Bike Path are within walking reach. Lanikai Beach, Lanikai Pillbox Hike, Downtown Honolulu, Ala Moana Center, Kahala Mall, Koʻolau Golf Course, Maunawili Falls Trail, Whole Foods Kailua and Target Kailua are a short drive away. A car is recommended. The home is rented monthly, with exclusive use for the full 30-day period; the full monthly charge applies regardless of the number of nights occupied.
