Mavros Molos is the closest beach for swims, while Falasarna is within comfortable reach for a more expansive beach day, especially if the mood turns toward sunset and a longer afternoon out. Chania is farther, but worth keeping in mind for a day that asks for a different rhythm, more movement, and a little history.
