The house

The cottage has a furnished living space with comfortable seating, modern country interiors and a wood-burning stove. A well-equipped kitchen and adjoining dining area provide space for self-catering meals. There are two furnished bedrooms with comfortable beds and one modern bathroom. Bed linens, a coffee maker and a carbon monoxide detector are provided.

The private garden is directly across the lane from the side door and has a BBQ for guest use. The wood basket and ash bucket are in the small building beside the garden. General waste goes in the bin opposite the property by the garage; recycling bins are in the garden area behind the garage.

The cottage is on Main Street in Westow, in the countryside of the Howardian Hills. A village pub is a stroll away. Malton is around 5 miles away and York approximately 15 miles away. Nearby places to explore include Kirkham Priory, Castle Howard and surrounding villages and countryside.

A car is recommended for exploring the area. Local bus services 184 and 185 connect Westow with nearby villages and Malton, which has shops, restaurants, a bus station and a railway station with connections towards York. Taxis are available in the Malton area.
