The house

Originally built to Averell Harriman’s specifications and reconstructed in 2004, this 3,025-square-foot home has five full bathrooms and no half bathrooms. It is a private residence, not owned or operated by the Sun Valley Company.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a Wolf six-burner stove, dishwasher, microwave, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster. An island and six-stool breakfast bar provide preparation and seating space, with a separate six-seat table in the sunny nook. The dining and living area has another table for six, a wood-burning fireplace, Smart TV, four armchairs and a sofa. A secretary’s desk provides a place to work. Two sets of double doors lead to a terrace with a table and mountain views. A lower-level den has a desk, sectional sofa and TV.

The primary bedroom has a king bed, gas fireplace, Smart TV and private bathroom. Another guest bedroom has a king bed, private bathroom and TV. Three further guest bedrooms each have two twin beds; in one of these rooms, the twins can be joined to make a king with advance notice.

The home has air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a washer, dryer, grill and garage. Starter kitchen, laundry and bath essentials are provided. Guests have access to the Sun Valley Inn Pool and seasonal Olympic Pool, both a short walk away. Dollar Mountain skiing and Sun Valley Village entertainment are nearby. Parking accommodates three vehicles, and the Mountain Rides shuttle connects Ketchum, Sun Valley and Elkhorn.
