The house

Hale Konishiki occupies 5,804 square feet on more than an acre of beachfront land with 165 feet of sandy frontage and gated entry. Originally built by Sumo champion Konishiki Yasokichi, the home has four traditional bedrooms and a separate game room with additional sleeping space.

The great room has high wood-beam ceilings, panoramic ocean-facing windows, comfortable seating and an adjoining dining area with sliding doors. The full kitchen has ocean views, granite countertops, a large island, refrigerator, freezer, oven, dishwasher and toaster. Outside are lawns, paved pathways, shaded lanais and views of the ocean and Waianae mountains. The private pool has a natural-rock waterfall and is unheated; there is no hot tub.

The primary bedroom has a king bed, garden views, split air conditioning and an ensuite bathroom. Guest Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and garden views; Guest Bedrooms 3 and 4 have queen beds and ocean views. All four bedrooms have split air conditioning. The game room has a full-size futon, ping-pong table and private full bathroom, but no air conditioning. Guest Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a bathroom. Another full bathroom near the kitchen and laundry area has outdoor access. Common areas are cooled by cross-breezes and ceiling fans rather than air conditioning.

Wi-Fi, a washer and dryer, Smart TV, home-theater facilities, linens and additional bedding are available. Beach equipment includes towels, chairs and boogie boards. Free parking and a garage are available, and security cameras are present. Children are welcome. Ko Olina’s golf courses, restaurants and lagoons, and Kapolei’s shopping and family attractions, are minutes away. Maili Beach Park and local food trucks are nearby.

The home is offered on a monthly-rental basis, with the full monthly charge applying even for shorter occupancy and no prorating. The property is currently for sale; the property manager will contact guests to arrange showings at a convenient time.
