# East Brander Escape Shelter Island, NY, United States (general area) ## About the house East Brander Escape accommodates up to six guests in a roughly 2,200-square-foot home on a quiet corner lot in Shelter Island's Silver Beach area. The open-plan living and dining space has a wood-burning fireplace, with a separate den for reading or quiet time. The equipped kitchen includes a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, cookware, dishes, coffee makers, toaster and blender. Three bedrooms are upstairs: two with one queen bed each and one with two twin beds. A fourth bedroom on the main floor has two twin beds, and an additional main-floor sleeping area has a sofa bed. All five sleeping areas have air conditioning. The main-floor hall bathroom has a shower and tub; the upstairs hall bathroom has a shower. Linens, towels and bath essentials are provided. Outdoor facilities include a screened porch, covered deck/patio with table and chairs, a hot-and-cold cedar shower, gas grill, wood-burning fire pit and fenced yard. Equipment includes ten beach chairs, a beach umbrella, four adult bicycles, kayak/canoe equipment and a cooler. The owner will likely occupy a separate cottage on the property. Sliding doors off the deck need to be pulled firmly to open. Maximum occupancy is six; no additional guests are permitted. The primary renter must be at least 35. Smoking is not permitted. Events are prohibited. Reservations involving events, commercial activities, other non-traditional uses or rotating guest groups require prior written host approval and may incur additional fees or an increased security deposit. Utility fees are included, but guests are responsible for excessive use, defined as utility costs over $70.00 per reservation night. For stays longer than seven nights, one cleaning per week is mandatory at the guest's expense. Spring cleaning and updates typically occur in late April or early May. For stays outside Memorial Day through Labor Day, inquire before booking about outdoor furniture and equipment availability. Reservations require approval before confirmation. Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. Following cancellation, efforts may be made to reopen and rebook the original dates at the owner's discretion. If those dates are rebooked at the same or a higher price, a refund less a penalty of 20% of the total reservation amount is issued after full payment for the replacement booking. If no replacement booking is made, guests may use their original dates if payments meet the agreed schedule and Marquis receives written notice at least 72 hours before arrival. Credit-card balance payments are capped at $3,500; larger payments must be by check, ACH or wire.
