The house

The 3,667-square-foot estate accommodates up to 18 guests and has five ensuite bedrooms with lanai access, individually controlled air conditioning, ceiling fans and TVs. The two primary bedrooms have ocean views. Additional sleeping areas are in the media room and living room.

A gated entrance leads to interiors with vaulted ceilings and sliding glass doors. Two ocean-view living rooms, an air-conditioned media room and an office provide separate gathering and work spaces. The dining table seats eight, with additional seating at the breakfast bar. The renovated kitchen has granite counters, stainless steel appliances, a gas cooktop, refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, wine fridge and small appliances including a coffee maker, grinder, blender, rice cooker and food processor.

Outside are a wrap-around lanai, private pool, spa, BBQ, garden and outdoor seating overlooking the ocean and lava outcroppings. Spinner dolphins and seasonal winter whales may be seen from the property. Beach towels and chairs are provided; beach equipment rentals are available for an additional charge.

The home has dual washers and dryers, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, writing desks, private gated parking for four vehicles, a high chair and a Pack and Play. Air conditioning serves the five bedrooms and media room, but not the living room, dining room or kitchen; wide-opening doors provide ventilation in these spaces. Downtown Kona’s dining, shops and Honl’s Beach are walkable. A car is recommended for exploring farther afield.
