The house

Designed by Lucky Bennett and furnished by Peggy Chestnut, this 3,911-square-foot home accommodates up to eight guests. The two levels connect by a covered exterior stairwell, with no interior stairwell.

The upstairs Great Room has vaulted ceilings, a seating area and a six-person surfboard dining table. Glass sliders open to a furnished lanai overlooking the pool, waterfall and tropical landscaping. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite counters, a five-seat breakfast bar, a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee-making equipment, blender and rice cooker.

The upper-level primary suite has a king bed, partial ocean and garden views, and an ensuite with a soaking tub, walk-in shower and dual vanities. The lower level has a king bedroom, a bedroom with two queen beds, and a living area with two twin beds and direct courtyard access.

The private courtyard contains a heated pool with a cascading waterfall, an integrated spa, sunning areas and a lava rock outdoor shower. A covered outdoor kitchen has a BBQ grill, sink and dining tables. Other facilities include a game room with a pool table, a downstairs bar with cold storage, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, a washer and dryer, televisions and gated privacy. Beach towels, chairs and an umbrella are provided; beach equipment rentals are available for an additional charge.

Guests have private entry to Mauna Lani Beach Club, with members-only parking, shaded casitas, lounge chairs and a restaurant, plus snorkeling in Makaiwa Bay. Mauna Lani Beach Club, shops and restaurants are within walking distance. 49 Black Sand Beach has cliffside trails and tidepools. Hapuna Beach, Puako tidepools, Pololu Valley Lookout, Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site, Mauna Kea stargazing and championship golf courses are a short drive away.
