Its architecture combines Northern Shingle style with historic North Carolina plantation-house elements, including a west-facing stair tower and double porches to the east. Separate wings provide sleeping areas around central gathering spaces. There are eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms, comprising seven full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. The bed inventory is seven king beds, two daybeds and one trundle. The upper-level great room opens onto covered ocean-facing decks and west-facing decks with sound views. The formal living area has four picture-window sitting bays, a Carolina cedar tray ceiling, cypress trim and heart pine floors. The main kitchen has several preparation workstations, two dishwashers, a gas range and two refrigerators. The dining area seats 12 and has ocean views; a western balcony overlooks the garden and Currituck Sound. The guest house has a galley kitchen and laundry. Laundry facilities are also available in both ground-level wings of the main house. Outdoor facilities include a private beach walkway with no steps, a dunetop gazebo, screened porch, outdoor shower, outdoor furniture, gas and charcoal grills, and five beach chairs. Guests have access to Sanderling Racquet and Swim Club's shared pool and tennis courts; community amenities also include soundside access and a private dock. Bed linens, bath towels, pillows and blankets, an iron and ironing board, streaming TV and multiple TVs/DVDs are provided.
