The house

This contemporary, light-filled home accommodates four guests with two bedrooms, two beds and one bathroom. It has electric heating and cooling, a Smart TV with Netflix and Pandora, and an open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, cabinetry and a kitchen island. A separate sun-lit dining table provides space for meals.

Driveway parking is available out front, and an electric vehicle charging station is nearby. The Columbia Gorge Express bus stop for service from Portland is one block away. Nearby places within walking distance include Eastwind Drive-In, a quarter-mile north; the Pacific Crest Trail and Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, both a quarter-mile south; and riverside Marine Park, less than half a mile north.

Hood River is a 19-mile drive east for windsurfing, orchards and vineyards. Across the Bridge of the Gods, Beacon Rock and Hamilton Mountain offer hiking on the Washington side of the Gorge, eight miles west.
