Questions guests ask before booking

Answered by the host; the same facts Chucho uses.

What is the cabin layout and how many guests can stay?

This single-level, open-plan cabin accommodates 2 guests, with 1 bedroom area incorporated into the main space, 1 queen bed and 1 bathroom. You can hear the songbirds in the morning without leaving the bed. There is a dining/work area and a beautiful desk overlooking the property—a view that may invite distractions and daydreaming. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner; a personal chef can also be arranged for an additional fee. The bathroom includes the essentials, tucked into thoughtful little details. The beautiful terrace offers views of the surroundings, where peacocks, squirrels and even monkeys roam.

What should I know about the animals and booking adjacent cabins?

Many species inhabit this property, including peacocks, chickens, monkeys, squirrels and rabbits. Guests are strongly requested not to feed the animals and to respect their space at all times. This cabin can be rented together with adjacent cabins to accommodate a total of 8 guests across 3 cabins; this cabin alone accommodates 2. Early check-in and/or late check-out are subject to availability and may incur an additional fee depending on the time.

Where can I park?

You can park directly next to the cabin in the designated area.

How accessible is the property by road?

Hacienda Pavo Real, the ranch where the cabins are located, is described as 5 minutes from Coronado. The private property is easily accessible from the Pan-American Highway. Directions will be shared before check-in.

When is support available?

Communication hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The team will do its best to answer messages outside those hours. In an emergency, you may call at any time. If staff are not on site, the team will do everything possible to help remotely until they can arrive in person. This is a vacation accommodation, not a hotel; please treat the space with respect. Problems will be addressed as quickly as possible, but no one lives on site 24/7.

What is Hacienda Pavo Real like?

Hacienda Pavo Real is made up of 4 cabins on one and a half hectares of green terrain. The property has a greenhouse producing a variety of vegetables depending on the season, a plant nursery, and multiple animal areas with monkeys, chickens and peacocks.

What house rules should I follow?

Please read the house rules at the start of your stay and ask the team if anything is unclear. • Turn off lights, air conditioning and electronics when leaving the cabin. Close the windows and lock the door. • Respect the ranch and avoid loud noise between 12 p.m. (noon) and 8 a.m., as stated in the manual. • Do not feed the animals; respect their space. • Smoking is not allowed inside the home. Smoking is permitted outdoors; dispose of waste in the bin and do not litter the grounds. Failure to follow the policies may result in penalties, including partial or full withholding of the deposit.

Which additional services can be arranged?

The following services carry additional fees and require advance arrangements: e-bike rental; transportation options, including airport shuttle and car rental; a private chef with a tasting menu; and coffee tastings with specialists and Geisha coffee sales.

What are the check-in, check-out and stay limits?

Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; check-out is at 11 a.m. Flexible arrival or departure times may be requested, subject to availability and possible additional fees. The minimum stay is 1 night and the maximum stay is 365 nights.

What places and activities are recommended in the area?

• El Valle de Antón: a town of 8,000 people inside the crater of the inactive El Valle volcano, with picturesque nearby waterfalls, a tropical ecosystem and impressive views. Ask about La India Dormida. • Laguna San Carlos: before the entrance to Coronado on the Pan-American Highway, a road heads toward the mountains and continues to the lagoon. At the fork at the end of the paved road, turn right toward the lagoon parking area. The manual gives a distance of 21 km from the highway to the parking area. You can camp and swim at the lagoon. Admission and camping fees apply. • Cerro Chame: at 560 meters (1,837 feet), it faces the Pacific Ocean near Coronado beach. From the summit, the manual describes views of Corona, Coronado, Punta Chame, Panama City, the Campana Mountains, mangrove forests and saltwater shrimp ponds. There are more activities in the area; ask the team for recommendations and a custom itinerary for your group.
