The house

Guests have use of the full cottage. The living area has seating, a coffee table and a Smart TV. The country-style kitchen includes a fridge with a small freezer compartment, kettle, oven, hob, toaster and washing machine.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a double bed, and there is a separate ground-floor shower room. Amenities include a bathtub, bed linen, body soap and a carbon monoxide detector.

Located just off central Galgate, the cottage has a private enclosed rear garden with high walls that is not overlooked. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome per reservation. Free on-street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Barnard Castle offers independent shops, tearooms, pubs, a twice-weekly market, its medieval castle and the Bowes Museum. Bishop Auckland railway station is a 25-minute drive away. Bus routes from Barnard Castle serve Darlington, Durham and Richmond.
